Hallelujah (music/lyrics – ed saunders/terry saunders/brian smeltzer) We’re grateful to the many radio stations that include “Hallelujah” in their seasonal play lists!  With Andrea Cosman’s amazing vocals, and the angelic members of the Halifax Youth Honour Choir, the song is pure joy!  Fire of My God in My Eyes  (music/lyrics – us again) Ed was inspired to write “Fire” after reading Rhonda Byrne’s “The Secret.” We’re thrilled that “Fire” won Top 5 World-Wide - Song of the Year Contest Mar. 08!  And Glenn Graham – thanks for that sweet fiddling! Are You Washed in the Blood? (Elisha Hoffman – Public Domain) This great old standard was written in 1878, but still gets the spirit flowing today. It’s a challenging message, delivered at rollicking pace.  Feel free to tap a toe or two! I Don’t See It (music/lyrics – yep, us again) We all have doubt. Everyone at some point of their life questions whether there is a higher power. Terry’s poignant lyrics ask the eternal question – why is hate easy, and love hard work?   Heed the Call (music/lyrics – same 3 guys!) All three of us grew up surrounded by some great old bluegrass and gospel music.  In writing “Heed the Call” we hoped to emulate the spirit and sound of those traditional of gospel sing-along songs.   Fishers of Men/Blessings (Harry Clark - Public Domain/The Saunders Brothers) Building on the 1914 classic Fishers of Men, we added words and music inspired by fishers we are honored to call our friends. Add the vocals of the Indian Harbour Community Church Kid’s Choir, and ya just gotta smile. Devil (music/lyrics – guess?)     This quirky original rejects “The Old Horned One!” The message – our path is our choice. And each is filled with rewards or consequences. Brian really plays the devil out the bass on this one!! Down by the Holy River (music/lyrics – who else?)           Who says you can’t have fun at church? This peppy original celebrates life! And how many gospel songs include the word “Beelzebub,” while the band is playing a jug, mouth harp and wooden toad?”   Lord I’m Coming Home (William Kirkpatrick – Public Domain) We were inspired by the spirit of this beautiful 1892 classic. Yes, we’re true to the original lyrics, but add our own Nova Scotian musical “lilt of the sea” beneath it. Hope it gets ya swayin’! The Soul of Man Never Dies (William Golden – Public Domain) What a great message!  Written in 1914, it still rings true today. In fact, “Soul of Man” has become our most requested song to perform at memorial services.
